André Ventura did not make any statements to journalists, having only entered the car that has been transporting him during this electoral campaign for the early legislative elections on 18 May.
The president of Chega left the hospital on his own two feet, accompanied by his personal security guards, and signalled to journalists that he would speak later.
When the Chega leader left, two people who were outside the hospital applauded and cheered for André Ventura.
The president of Chega felt unwell while speaking at a dinner rally in Tavira, in the Faro district, on Tuesday night, having been removed from the stage and watched on site. He was then taken to Faro Hospital, where he spent the night under observation.
The chairman of the hospital's Board of Directors told reporters that André Ventura had a “change in blood pressure” when he entered the health unit at 10:44 pm.
Before leaving the hospital, the Chega leader published a photo on his social media of himself in a hospital bed, wearing a shirt, with a catheter in his hand and an orange bracelet, the second most serious in the Manchester triage.
"I am being very well treated at Faro Hospital and I hope to be discharged in the next few hours. I want to thank everyone for their support, friendship and prayers. Thank you," he wrote.
Chega had planned a campaign action at 11 am, in a location yet to be defined, in which André Ventura will not participate.
André Ventura is expected to return to the campaign at 5pm, at the event scheduled for Vila Nova de Milfontes, Beja district.
