The fire that started on Sunday afternoon in Aljezur, in the Algarve, was deemed to be under control shortly after midnight, Civil Protection reported on its website.

This fire started in Monte Novo, in the municipality in the Faro district, at around 4:30 pm.
At 00:15, 164 firefighters and 58 vehicles remained on site, fighting the fire.
