The 1st phase of the V2 will see Avenida Paul Harris continue to Avenida Gil Vicente, with a new roundabout next to the Três Irmãos Municipal Stadium, according to a report by Sul Informação.

This will be “a modern road, with two lanes in each direction, a central divider and pedestrian and cycle paths”, announced the Portimão City Council in March.

The direct connection between the eastern and western areas of the city, facilitating access to Alvor, will generate greater traffic flow, reducing pressure on the N125 and A22, less congestion on the V6, the integration of sidewalks and cycle paths to encourage sustainable mobility and better circulation and accessibility for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.

The project, budgeted at 6,438,975.32 euros, excluding VAT, has a completion deadline of 600 days.

The deadline for submitting proposals is July 7.
