"In July 2025, 309,225 passengers disembarked at airports in the Azores, a 1.7% increase compared to the same month of the previous year," reads the SREA air passenger movement report.
According to the document, disembarking passengers "occurred most frequently on inter-island flights (45.1% of total disembarking passengers), followed by those disembarking on domestic flights (36.6%) and those disembarking on international flights (18.3%).
On inter-island flights, 139,316 passengers disembarked (a year-on-year increase of 3.8%), on domestic flights, 113,312 passengers (a year-on-year increase of 1.6%), and on international flights, 56,597 passengers (a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%).
In the first seven months of the year, the Azores registered 1,368,515 disembarking passengers, representing a slight increase compared to 2024, when 1,316,692 were registered.
The SREA report states that all islands showed a positive year-on-year monthly change in air passenger arrivals, with the exception of Graciosa (-2.9%) and Santa Maria (-0.6%).
São Jorge registered a positive change of 12%, Flores 5.4%, Corvo 3.8%, Pico 3.1%, Faial 2.3%, Terceira 1.3%, and São Miguel 1.2%.
In July, the island of São Miguel, with 174,325 passengers arriving, "accounted for 56.4% of the total number of passengers arriving at Azores airports, followed by Terceira, with 61,604 passengers arriving (19.9% of the total), Faial, with 21,679 passengers arriving (7% of the total), and Pico, with 18,637 passengers arriving (6% of the total)."
The number of embarked passengers in July was 291,373, "a year-on-year increase of 1.4%.
Inter-island flights accounted for 139,312 passengers (a year-on-year increase of 3.8%), domestic flights for 100,922 passengers (a 2% increase), and international flights for 51,139 passengers (a year-on-year decrease of 5.4%), according to the document.
