In a statement, the AMN explained that the seas will be characterised by "swells from the west-northwest quadrant, with significant heights that could reach three metres and a maximum of six metres on the west coast, with an average period of between 11 and 13 seconds."
"Winds are expected from the west-northwest quadrant, with an average intensity of up to 38 kilometres per hour and gusts of up to 69 kilometres per hour," the AMN stated.
Given these conditions, the National Marine Authority (AMN) recommends that swimmers frequent beaches that are permanently monitored, respect signage, follow instructions from lifeguards and authorities, supervise children, and avoid staying on unstable cliffs.
It is also recommended to reinforce mooring and surveillance of boats, avoid walking along the seashore or in areas exposed to rough seas, and avoid recreational fishing on cliffs or cliffs subject to breaking waves.
"Under these conditions, the sea can easily reach seemingly safe areas," warns the AMN.
