In a press release, the US airline explains that these operations aim to "further open Europe to Boston travellers with two new nonstop routes."

The route to Madrid, the Spanish capital, is scheduled to begin on May 16, 2026, with daily flights, while the service to Nice, in the south of France, begins the following day, May 17, with flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

"By adding direct flights to Madrid and Nice, we are enhancing our European network and maintaining our commitment to offering an exceptional travel experience from start to finish," said Paul Baldoni, Delta Air Lines' Senior Vice President of Network Planning.

With these two new routes to Madrid and Nice, Delta Air Lines now has flights to 12 European destinations from Boston.

In addition to the new routes, Delta Air Lines will also strengthen its Barcelona and Milan routes, which will begin earlier next summer, with daily connections to the Catalan capital beginning May 7th, while connections to Milan are scheduled to begin May 16th, with four flights per week.

"These additions reinforce Boston's role as a key global gateway to Delta's network. In two decades, Delta has nearly tripled its service to Boston, from 25 to approximately 70 destinations worldwide," the Delta Air Lines statement further noted.

Delta Air Lines flights to Madrid and Nice will be operated on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.
