Service on the Lisbon Metro was suspended and stations closed from the opening time of 6:30 am, due to the second day of a partial strike by workers, with no minimum services.

ML workers had already carried out a partial strike on Monday, which, according to Sara Gligó of the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (FECTRANS), had "significant participation."

At issue are the increase in meal, vacation, and Christmas bonuses, and changes to the maximum weekly working hours.

Workers decided to continue the partial strikes scheduled for Tuesday and today after plenary meetings and meetings with the company.

The strike was scheduled from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM for operational workers, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM for workshop workers, from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM for fixed and administrative workers, and from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM for night and track workers.

ML had appealed on Wednesday to workers' organizations to suspend the partial strike scheduled for today, reiterating its openness to "serious and responsible" dialogue.

The Lisbon Metro operates four lines daily: Yellow (Rato-Odivelas), Green (Telheiras-Cais do Sodré), Blue (Reboleira-Santa Apolónia), and Red (Airport-São Sebastião).

The service usually starts at 6:30 AM, but the company stated that the strike would delay the opening until around 10:30 AM.
