This is the last of eight Motorhome Service Areas integrated into the Mountain Motorhome Route, a project carried out under the Action Plan for the Development of Endogenous Resources – CRESC Algarve 2020.

With the opening of this Service Area, the first phase, initiated in 2017, is completed. This service area defines a quality tourist destination for European Motorhome tourism, focused on a Mountain Route throughout the interior of the Algarve, currently connecting Alcoutim, São Brás de Alportel, Ameixial, Salir, São Bartolomeu de Messines, São Marcos da Serra, Alferce, and Marmelete.

In addition to being the entity appointed by AMAL and CCDRAlgarve to manage applications and promote projects, the IN LOCO Association, in partnership with the municipalities responsible for the ASAs, designed and implemented a Serrana Route Promotion Project, which promoted the territory and its endogenous resources to the entire international motorhome community.

Among many other objectives achieved, a platform was created to support travel planning and the discovery of the riches this territory has to offer, in several categories: Local Products; Crafts; Commerce and Services; Accommodation; Activities and Events; Heritage and Restaurants.

This website, available in five languages, https://www.rotaserranaautocaravanismo.pt/pt, "will grow in depth and detail with the collaboration of the network of partners, highlighting the unique and genuine local resources that make this territory a destination to safeguard and value," says In Loco.
