“The new sports facility meets the growing demand for spaces dedicated to aquatic adaptation, swimming lessons, and group activities in recreational, sports, and therapeutic settings,” according to a statement from the council.
The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Lagoa, Luís Encarnação, who unveiled the inaugural plaque, followed by the first "Áqua Dinâmica" water aerobics class.
The pool is 17 meters long by 12 meters wide, with a depth ranging from 80 cm to 1.30 m, and also features a Jacuzzi. The space is equipped to accommodate multiple activities, strengthening the municipality's network of sports facilities.
The PMMC will be open Monday through Friday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Saturday, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.
