The international promotion of the Algarve's boating segment will take place between Friday and September 28th at the 56th edition of the Southampton International Boat Show in the United Kingdom, the RTA announced in a statement.
Attended by over 100,000 people per edition, the event "represents a unique opportunity" to showcase the infrastructure, equipment, and range of services and personalized experiences for every type of boater, according to the Algarve tourism promotion entity.
"The Algarve now boasts a diverse and sophisticated nautical offering that goes far beyond traditional sun and sea, and the presence in Southampton is an important step in solidifying the region's recognition as a leading nautical destination," says the RTA president, quoted in the statement.
According to André Gomes, the promotion in the United Kingdom aims to "attract new markets and demonstrate that the Algarve has the capacity to welcome tourists year-round".
With approximately four thousand moorings, international marinas, and certified nautical stations, the Algarve region offers experiences ranging from kitesurfing and powerboating to sailing, cave visits, diving, and marine life observation.
According to the RTA, the Algarve has also established itself as a venue for international competitions and a training base for professional teams, thanks to its favourable climate and direct air links to several countries, which help combat seasonality and sustainably boost the coastal economy.
