"The price increase for the vast majority of EPAL's domestic customers, approximately 85% (average monthly consumption of seven cubic meters and a meter up to 25 millimetres), is 20 cents per month," the company responsible for supplying water to the city of Lisbon said in a statement.
According to EPAL, "rates were updated in accordance with the forecast of the harmonized consumer price index published by the Water and Waste Services Regulatory Authority (ERSAR)."
In the statement, the company notes that it offers a Social Water Tariff, aimed at the most needy customers, which offers discounts of up to 93%, and a Family Tariff for households with five or more people.
