"In compliance with the routine maintenance program, we inform that between the business days of October 9th and November 5th of this year, Lusoponte will carry out paving work on the 25 de Abril Bridge," reads an announcement published today in the Portuguese press.

The company operating the approximately two-kilometre suspended bridge recommends "the alternative use of the Vasco da Gama Bridge" – which it also operates as a concessionaire and which also connects the south and north of Greater Lisbon – during the night hours on weekdays, between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM the following day. Traffic on the 25 de Abril Bridge will be restricted at night between Thursday and November 5.
