Some 250+ attendees are expected at the next show, which takes place at London’s Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel on Thursday 16th October 2025. Interest in leaving the UK and starting over in Portugal has jumped by up to 30% between 2024 and 2025, according to the event’s organizer, the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK.

“People aren’t just keen to move out of the UK, they’re doing it fast,” comments General Manager Christina Hippisley. “We’re seeing a lot of very focused plans being put into place, as families seek out the financial and lifestyle advantages that Portugal can offer. The anticipated Autumn Budget in the UK is accelerating that trend further, prompting people to consider their relocation options.”

The free-to-attend Moving to Portugal Show in London on 16th October will provide a vast array of expertise and insight regarding the practicalities of leaving the UK. Seminars at the event will focus on how to take advantage of Portugal’s tax benefits, the residency options available to foreign nationals and the legal steps to buying property there. Sessions will also cover Portugal’s Golden Visa program, its updated Non-Habitual Residence Regime (known as NHR 2.0), mortgages and banking. Key areas of focus will include the Algarve (both the Golden Triangle and the West Algarve), Cascais, Lisbon’s Southbank and the Douro region, along with a general overview of Portugal’s property market.

Divided into morning and afternoon sessions, running until 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm respectively, the Moving to Portugal Show will also include presentations on investing in Portugal, currency exchange considerations and cross-border banking and trading platforms. It will conclude with a panel of Golden Visa funds, followed by networking drinks.

At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with presenters and exhibitors covering all aspects of moving away from the UK. The comprehensive range of seminar sessions and presentations ensures that those at different stages of their moving journey can all benefit from attending.

Stephen Baldwin, 57, attended two Moving to Portugal Shows before moving to Cascais, near Lisbon, with his wife and three children. He comments:

"Attending the Moving to Portugal Show meant I was able to establish my tax position, find out about the cost of living, and ask about the minutiae of things like importing a car—things I had been struggling to find out online. At the Moving to Portugal Show, all of that information is in one place. It's a great opportunity to access relevant expertise for free."

The Moving to Portugal Show is free to attend, with the final few weeks of tickets for next week's event, taking place on October 16th, bookable online in advance at https://London-MTP-2025.eventbrite.co.uk.
