The initiative has been coordinated by the Institute of Public and Social Policies of the University Institute of Lisbon (IPPS/Iscte) and developed in collaboration with the Collaborative Laboratory for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection (CoLABOR) and the Institute of Social Sciences/Iscte.

"The platform is an innovative and accessible resource for understanding local dynamics, identifying development trends, and analysing electoral behaviour over the past few decades," says the CoLABOR statement.

The Local Government Atlas website is divided into three areas: indicators by municipality, indicators by party, and the municipal election archive.

In the indicators by municipality tab, you can view the results of the most recent municipal elections and statistical indicators for each territory. In the party section, as the name suggests, you can analyze the statistical indicators for "each party in the municipalities where they held office."

In the archive, visitors can learn about the winning political forces in each municipality since the 1976 elections.

The municipal elections take place on October 12.
