After becoming the first Portuguese player to reach the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters 1000, where he lost to Australian Alex de Minaur, Nuno Borges rose five places, returning to the top 50.
Besides de Minaur, Portugal has two more tennis players in the top 200, with Jaime Faria dropping to 128th place, while Henrique Rocha rose to 161st, in a hierarchy that continues to be led by Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, followed by Italian Jannik Sinner and German Alexander Zverev.
Despite being eliminated in his debut in Shanghai, Francisco Cabral dropped only one place, to 29th, in the doubles rankings, with his regular partner Lucas Miedler dropping to 25th.
In the women's rankings, the only change in the top spots was American Jessica Pegula's rise to fifth, replacing Russian Mirra Andreeva. Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka remained at the top, ahead of Poland's Iga Swiatek and American Coco Gauff.
Among the Portuguese women, Matilde Jorge remains the highest-ranked player at 250th, five places ahead of her sister Francisca.
