Globally, five districts/regions are building reputation for Portugal. Lisbon comes in first, with a score of 75.9 points, followed by Porto with 70.4 points; Madeira with 68.4 points; Faro with 67.8 points; and finally, Aveiro with 62.5 points. The consultancy firm indicates that the remaining districts/regions are still dependent on Portugal's brand image and reputation, according to a report by Publituris.
Internally, the districts/regions that build Reputation for the Portugal brand increase to nine, with Porto leading (77.7 points), followed by Lisbon (77.3 points) and Madeira (70.6 points). This analysis also includes Aveiro (69.4 points), Braga (69.2 points), Faro (68.5 points), Coimbra (66.6 points), Évora (66.2 points), and Viana do Castelo (64.9 points).
Externally, with the consultancy auditing countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Greece, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Russia, China, India, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, South Africa, Argentina, Canada, Angola, Mozambique, and the United Arab Emirates, the districts/regions that build reputation for the Portugal brand are reduced to four: Lisbon (74.4 points), Faro (67.0 points), Madeira (66.2 points), and Porto (63.1 points).
OnStrategy also measured the impact of each district/region's image and reputation on Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Thus, it concludes that, considering the values of GDP 2023 (€267.4 billion) and GDP 2024 (€285.2 billion), an increase of 1 point in the Image and Reputation of each district/region would potentially generate an increase of between €4.4 and €4.7 billion in GDP.
