The results of the AHP's "Summer Balance 2025" survey, for the period between June and September, affirm that the "Algarve is the star of the summer of 2025", according to the AHP's executive vice-president, Cristina Siza Vieira.
The average price per room in the Algarve rose to 206 euros and the occupancy rate to 88 %, maintaining its price leadership, while Lisbon maintained its average price per room at 176 euros, with the average occupancy rate rising to 86 %.
‘We're entering a plateau in Lisbon and we're not going to see an increase in either occupancy rates or prices,’ said the vice-president of the AHP.
Cristina Siza Vieira highlighted Lisbon airport as one of the obstacles to the growth of stays in the city, considering that the structure is already operating at its limits.
‘I don't think the hotel industry's tendency will be to lower prices,’ she emphasised when confronted with the stagnation in Lisbon.
The Azores, whose occupancy rate fell to 86 %, but whose average price per room rose to 143 euros, were also down.
In the same vein, the centre region also saw its occupancy rate fall to 56%, but the average price per room increased to 109 euros.
According to the AHP survey data, the average price per room rose in all regions of the country except Lisbon.
The region with the highest occupancy rate was once again the Autonomous Region of Madeira with 91 %.
