After a 3-2 home loss to Qarabag, which led to Bruno Lage's departure and José Mourinho's return, and a 1-0 away loss to Chelsea, Benfica returns to England to play Newcastle, who lost 2-1 at home to FC Barcelona and thrashed Union St. Gilloise (4-0).

Since Mourinho's arrival, Benfica has only lost one match, a visit to Chelsea, and interrupted FC Porto's 100% winning streak with a 0-0 draw at the Dragão. Benfica heads into the visit to St. James Park after beating Desportivo de Chaves (2-0) in the Portuguese Cup.

Benfica will face Newcastle for the third time, having won 3-1 at home and drawn 1-1 away in the 2012/13 Europa League quarterfinals, where they lost the final to Chelsea.

The match between the Magpies and the Eagles is scheduled for 8 p.m. at St. James Park and will be refereed by Polish referee Szymon Marciniak.
