In a statement, the Madeira executive, led by Social Democrat Miguel Albuquerque, explained that the amount available this year for the Health Service now exceeds €353.1 million.
This decision was taken at the meeting of the Regional Government Council, which also approved a programme contract with ARDITI – the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation – worth €525,129, seeking to provide the institution with the financial means to acquire ocean technologies.
The government also approved three sports development programme contracts under the Regional Sports Support Plan (PRAD 2024/2025), relating to regional competitions and travel by local sports clubs, with a total value of €19,367.
In addition, a programme contract was authorised with the Casa do Povo do Caniçal worth €117,600 to contribute towards the costs of the “Sea and Fisherman Fair” held in 2025, as well as a contract with the Casa do Povo de Santa Cruz to support the “Sounds and Flavours of Madeira” event, amounting to €11,150.
