Following a successful first edition in 2024, which gathered over 45 speakers and 700 participants at ISCTE, this year’s Summit aims to further establish itself as a national platform for dialogue, learning, and human rights literacy.

The 2025 edition will once again bring together national and international voices from academia, business, civil society and politics to discuss the challenges of building inclusive workplaces and communities.

Confirmed speakers include António Horta-Osório, who will share insights on leadership and social responsibility; singer Selma Uamusse, in conversation with journalist Bernardo Mendonça; João Costa, former Minister of Education and current Director of the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education; and Inês Marinho, activist and President of the association #NãoPartilhes.

The programme features panel discussions, interviews and keynote sessions on topics such as the geopolitical context of inclusion, gender equality, masculinity, the role of education, and wellbeing in diverse societies.

APPDI President Paula Carneiro highlighted the importance of maintaining a dedicated national forum for diversity and inclusion: “After the success of the first edition, this second Summit will deepen discussion and open new opportunities for shared learning and progress.”

Luís Menezes, CEO of Ageas Portugal Group, added: “Diversity is a transformative force. The DEI Summit invites us to reflect, learn and act together to build a future where everyone feels recognised and valued.”

The DEI Summit is free and fully inclusive, offering Portuguese Sign Language interpretation, quiet rooms, and support in both Portuguese and English. Registrations are open at deisummit.appdi.pt.
