In a warning, ANEPC stated that the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts, starting this afternoon, precipitation, sometimes heavy, in most of the country, wind with gusts of up to 80km/h on the coast and up to 100km/h in the highlands of the North and Center, and strong sea swells on the west coast until Thursday.

During this period, it was warned that flooding is expected in urban areas, caused by the accumulation of rainwater due to obstruction of drainage systems or coastal flooding, and by flash floods, intensified by the overflowing of the river beds along some watercourses, rivers and streams.

It is also expected that the road surface will become slippery due to the formation of water, and that loose objects may be swept onto the roads by strong winds.

Therefore, ANEPC recommended the adoption of the main preventive measures for these situations, such as not crossing flooded areas and removing animals, equipment and vehicles from areas that are normally flooded in bad weather.
