In a written response sent to Lusa, the Madeira Regional Command of the PSP says that the searches are being carried out “in the last mobile phone triangulation area of ​​the missing person's cell phone, namely in the Levada dos Tornos”.

The Levada dos Tornos is the longest in the autonomous region, stretching for more than 100 kilometres, and crosses several municipalities.

The PSP adds that the work is being done in collaboration with the Regional Civil Protection Service, the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation, the Forestry Police and the National Republican Guard.

“At the moment, there is no further information to add,” the police conclude.
