"Using state-of-the-art virtual reality technology, participants can explore the temples, tombs and rituals of Ancient Egypt, including sites that are still prohibited from being visited," says the event organisers in a statement.
According to the organisation, "visitors will explore the Giza Plateau at sunrise, the mastabas and the imposing Sphinx, cross the Nile in period boats, discover the interior of the Great Pyramid, walk through the forbidden corridors and secrets of the Queen's Chamber, meet the goddess Bastet and even witness an embalming ceremony."
The opening of the event, entitled 'Horizon of Cheops: Journey to Ancient Egypt', is scheduled for December 5, in the underground room of the Terreiro do Paço Metro station.
