The President of the Republic declared this Thursday, in a note published on the Presidency's website, that the Web Summit "still has no visible alternative at the moment." Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa made a quick visit to the technology summit in Lisbon this Thursday, which was not included in the official program.
"The President of the Republic visited the Web Summit in Lisbon this afternoon, and can confirm that, despite the vicissitudes experienced over a decade, it has made an essential contribution to placing Portugal at the centre of the digital world and still has no visible alternative at the moment," reads the message provided by Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
