It started with the need to create a space that was free and would allow anyone, despite their experience, to have a stage where they could perform and validate their art. It quickly grew, and more people began to show up. On their nights, APPT hosted established names like Maze and Muleka, while also giving space for emerging artists to establish themselves, such as LOBA and Flor Girino.

The nights are usually hosted by one of the members of the association; they are donation-based, and the mic is open the whole time. Poets can perform at any time, and there is also space for musicians to enter and improvise while the poets are performing.

Each event is unique. The beauty of an open mic is that you never really know what to expect, but you will always be surprised by the hidden talents people have when they get on the stage.
