According to the document, 2,507,573 people have been vaccinated against the flu since the start of the seasonal vaccination campaign on September 23, with 1,341,224 in units of SNS and 1,163,852 in pharmacies.

Against Covid-19, another 3,418 people were vaccinated in the last seven days, bringing the total number vaccinated to 1,327,218, says the report, indicating that 698,859 received the vaccine in the SNS and 627,155 in pharmacies.

The 2025-2026 autumn-winter seasonal vaccination campaign runs until April 30, 2026, in SNS health units and in 2,500 community pharmacies, and the DGS (Directorate-General of Health) aims to vaccinate approximately 2.5 million people against the flu and 1.5 million people against Covid-19. The data indicates that flu vaccination coverage in people over 85 years old is at 86.98%, in the 80-84 age group it is at 78.11%, in the 70-79 age group it is at 74.47%, and in those over 65 years old it is at 72.69%.

The COVID-19 vaccination coverage is lower than that of influenza, reaching 59.15% in those over 85 years old, 47.82% between 80 and 84 years old, 42.90% between 70 and 79 years old, and 42.94% in those over 65 years old.

Health authorities have reinforced the call for vaccination due to the increase in acute respiratory infections and cases of influenza that have caused an increase in demand for emergency services, INEM (National Institute of Medical Emergency) and the SNS 24 (National Health Service 24-hour helpline).

The Secretariat recommends vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 for everyone over 60 years of age, chronically ill patients of all ages and healthcare professionals, recalling the importance of immunization against these viruses.
