According to Transportes Metropolitanos do Porto (TMP), the following lines begin operating today: 2046, a fast connection via highway between Santa Maria da Feira (commercial area) and Boavista (Casa da Música); 2059, between Aveiro (university) and Santa Maria da Feira (commercial area); 3534, connecting Vila do Conde/Maia via Castelo; and 5023, a fast line via Leça do Balio between Matosinhos and Maia (forum).
Also, routes 8042, between Gondomar (Souto) and Parque Nascente, via highway and S. Roque; 9088, a fast line between the Lourosa/Fiães Interface and the University Campus (via Carvalhos); Route 9511, connecting Espinho (Vouga Station) and now offering a direct and fast link to Boavista (Casa da Música).
Of the seven routes, the first to start will be the 9511 (Espinho - Boavista), with the first departure from Espinho scheduled for 6 am and the last at 5:15 am, with an expected 19 trips in each direction.
At 06:30 am, the 9088 (Lourosa/Fiães - University Campus) starts, at 06:50 am the 5023 (Leça do Balio - Maia), at 06:55 am the 3534 (Vila do Conde - Maia), at 7am the 2059 (Aveiro - Santa Maria da Feira), at 07:30 am the 8042 (Gondomar - Parque Nascente) and at 09:15 am the 2046 (Santa Maria da Feira – Boavista).
“With the entry into operation of these new lines, the Unir network reinforces the offer of public transport, promoting more efficient, comfortable and sustainable journeys throughout the Porto Metropolitan Area,” TMP indicated in a statement at the end of December.
In the so-called North East lot of the Unir network (Santo Tirso/Valongo/Paredes/Gondomar), Nex Continental operates, and in the North West (Póvoa de Varzim/Vila do Conde), Porto Mobilidade operates.
In the North Central (Maia/Matosinhos/Trofa), Vianorbus operates, in the South West (Vila Nova de Gaia and Espinho), Transportes Beira Douro operates, and in the South East (Santa Maria da Feira/São João da Madeira/Arouca/Oliveira de Azeméis/Vale de Cambra), Xerbus operates.
