It is now headed by Teresa Abraços, herself an incredible pioneer for female surfing in Portugal, along with her husband, Pedro. Together they live by their motto: “Nós não queremos saber se é difícil, apenas se é possível!” (“We don’t care if it’s hard, only that it’s possible!”).

We not only host the surfing sessions themselves, but also create an event to raise funds for the wonderful work the association does. A big shout-out to Nuno at Adega da Marina group and Marina Park Hotel for their support from the very beginning.

Three years ago, we grew significantly, and the community really jumped on this. The local school’s association, CFD, AEGE, CAMPIMAR restaurant Porto do Mos, the Lagos Council, NECI and local surf clubs. Collectively, we have a local elite team of Surf Coaches and specialist Assistants. The participants have now grown from 40 to 50 every year, including a few international visitors who come specifically for the event, which we are considering focusing on further.
If this is something that interests you or other families please do not hesitate to make contact with the Association as they work year-around the country. We are already planning April 2026 for Porto do Mos once again.
