Residents of Zurich have decided to severely restrict the use of leaf blowers and vacuums, with more than 61 percent of voters in favour.

The use of these electronic devices is permitted from October to December, and authorities said it would limit noise and dust pollution.
A special permission will be required to use the devices at other times, and permission will only be granted under exceptional circumstances.
