“Every time I visited ARA to meet another dog, "Floopy" would scoot toward me. The little dog was eager to say hello. Due to his disability, dragging himself around, on his bum, but always happy.” Now adopted Floopy is determined to walk on his four legs, whenever possible.

“I’m fortunate to work full-time at home. Being able to offer love and comfort to these beautiful creatures is one of the greatest joys of my life.” Maya has a huge heart and love for her furry-friends, "Misty" her small Maltese-Bichon, her black cat ‘Baby’ and now Floopy.

Simão’s longevity at his death is a testament to the care and love that all the "Maya’s" in this world can give. The Animal Rescue Algarve team, show nothing but love and devotion to all their charges in their care. Anita APAA’s ambassador for the ARA ‘Legacy’ project agrees.

"A wonderful "Plan for Pets" for owners who really do care.” There is a smile on Maya’s face, she too has signed up. “If anything happens to the owner an illness, or tragically death, at least the pet(s) left behind have a future with ARA.” Their plan provides for them to be cared for, chipped and re-homed as soon as possible. VIP treatment all the way to ensure a happy forever home. “Maya is one of many, who come up to the mark, face their responsibilities and show care for the less-fortunate in the abandoned-animal world we live in.” Congratulations to Floopy!
