Uruguay’s wool and sheep industry is being revived after a long-term decline in flock-size, driven by record-high international prices.

The cost of wool has reached its highest level in at least three years in the South American country, fetching for US$7 per kilo, up a dollar from the previous month.
According to preliminary data, the national sheep flock has fallen by 11.2 percent to a historic low of 4.75 million head.
