In a statement, the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) explained that the measure aims to support strategic interventions in the field of Clean Urban Transport Infrastructure, within the framework of the Territorial Plans for Just Transition for the Alentejo coast.

The call for proposals supports operations that contribute to more efficient, articulated and environmentally sustainable transport systems, it added.

According to the regional program, the competition "intends to respond to the mobility needs arising from the recent economic diversification of the region and the consequent creation of new employment basins".

With an indicative budget of six million euros, the tender aims to finance construction, rehabilitation, or modernization projects for transport infrastructure.

Specifically, it seeks "multimodal stations and interfaces that improve the daily mobility of workers and solutions that facilitate commuting flows and promote the connection between different modes of transport, including less polluting alternatives to private vehicles," it specified.

According to the CCDR of Alentejo, the objective is to strengthen territorial cohesion and support a just energy transition, increasing the efficiency of mobility in the Alentejo Litoral region.

Applications can be submitted until May 29, 2026.
