On 14 July, a Flixbus bus lost control and crashed into a Chinese restaurant at Gare do Oriente in Lisbon. The bus was travelling without a driver at the wheel, and continued out of control until it crashed into the restaurant.
In the video posted on social media, it is possible to see that people were shouting for pedestrians to get out of the way of the bus.
This situation is not unique, as on 14 December 2024, a Rede Expressos bus also veered out of control and crashed into a building at Gare do Oriente, and, as in the most recent events, no one was injured. However, in 2023, three people were hit by a Carris bus that also ran out of control in the same location.
There must be something at that location that messes with the AI configuration of the buses.
