The device was purchased by the Union of Parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro and can be used not only during the summer season, but year-round, as part of a protocol to be signed with the beach's concessionaire.

"Designed to be simple and intuitive to use, U SAFE allows anyone, even without prior training, to perform a rescue with great precision. Its greatest advantage lies precisely in its ability to operate in adverse conditions, such as rough seas or rocky areas, avoiding putting the rescuer or a support vessel at risk," the Union of Parishes explains in a statement.

The concessionaire of Vale de Centianes beach, as well as the Benagil maritime tourism operator, already have this equipment, "which reinforces their commitment to coastal safety and the protection of all who frequent their beaches."

With this acquisition, the Union of Parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro aims to reaffirm its commitment to the safety, innovation, and well-being of the community and visitors, equipping Carvoeiro Beach with state-of-the-art technological resources for an effective response in emergencies at sea.

Following the installation of the equipment, a rescue simulation was conducted at Carvoeiro Beach.
