In a statement, the IPMA says the rain will begin Saturday night on the northern and central coast, gradually spreading to the rest of the country throughout Sunday.

"As the front passes, locally intense rainfall may occur, especially in the northern and central coastal regions, with this most likely occurring until late morning," it said.

High temperatures are expected to drop sharply on Sunday, between six and ten degrees Celsius inland and three to six degrees Celsius on the coast.

Temperatures are expected to be between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius, with minimum temperatures remaining unchanged, although both will remain below normal for this time of year.

For the following days, the IPMA anticipates continued passage of frontal waves in the North and Center, with more precipitation expected until the middle of next week.
