According to data available on the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), nearly 900 firefighters were fighting the fire that broke out on Wednesday in the parish of Piódão, in the municipality of Arganil, district of Coimbra, and later spread to the municipalities of Oliveira do Hospital and Pampilhosa da Serra (Coimbra), and Seia, in the district of Guarda.
For the fire that started in Sátão, district of Viseu, in the early hours of Wednesday, 488 operators were mobilized, while in the fire that started on Saturday in Trancoso, district of Guarda, 458 were engaged and fighting the flames in the fire in Cinfães, district of Viseu, there were 164.
I just wondered what other people felt about this. Their are people losing their homes to the fires and communities helping each other to assist the firefighters. And then last night we see the Prime Minister of this country enjoying himself in the Algarve. The president is just as bad. Do they not realise they have a moral obligation to be supporting their people - or do they not care?
