Covering over 40,000 square metres (m2), the new campus includes international-standard sports fields, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, a pavilion for large events, university-level science laboratories, a state-of-the-art auditorium, and spaces dedicated to the arts, according to a statement from King's College School.
"For the first time, we have a school that, in terms of infrastructure and quality, rivals the best in the world," says John Leitão, CEO of Inspired Education Group in Portugal, quoted in a statement.
Beyond the physical size, the school is also launching its boarding program, which will serve up to 50 students from the age of 13. The student housing provides an international and safe environment, with a focus on academic and personal development. "We want to foster innovation, strengthen confidence, and help young minds learn and grow," says the statement released by the school.
Another highlight of the school year is the awarding of full scholarships to two young people, aged 14 and 15, selected through the Nsouli Scholars program. Coming from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds, these students will have access to boarding and an educational experience. This commitment to inclusion "reflects the desire to open opportunities for those with potential but without the means," adds the school.
