This route is part of "the airline's network expansion plan for the 2025–2026 winter season, consolidating its presence in the Iberian Peninsula."
In a press release, Smartwings explains that the new route will operate year-round and complements the airline's existing operations to Madeira, with one flight per day in summer and four per week in winter, as well as to Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, with three flights per week between March and October.
"The new Porto–Prague route is part of Smartwings' growth strategy for next winter, which also includes new destinations such as Barcelona, Rome, and Bucharest, in addition to increased frequencies to Paris and Malaga. With these additions, the company hopes to meet the growing demand for direct connections between Iberian Europe and the Czech capital," the airline said in the information released.
Smartwings is the largest airline in the Czech Republic and has been in the market for 28 years. It is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and regularly receives the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certificate, which represents the highest standards of operational safety and quality in air transport.
