Pastor David Campos and his wife Claudia Campos invite you to join us at one of our two Sunday services, the 9:30 am English language service or the 11:00 am Portuguese service with English translation.

In January 2026 we launched our 9:30 service for English speakers, and on Sunday, March 15th, Senior Pastor Eddie Fernandes from Riverside Cascais inaugurated our newly refurbished upstairs area for Sunday School and bible study meetings.

Sunday School

The Sunday school takes place during our 11:00am service with one group for 7-10 year olds and another for 11-14 year olds. The creche looks after those under 7, so, whatever the age of your children, we have a place for them in our church.

Other Ministries

During the week, we have a Prayer Meeting on Tuesdays at 9:00am and a Bible Study on Tuesdays at 7:30pm. On the third Friday of each month we have a special meeting for our Women’s Ministry and each month we hold 24 hours of prayer.

From Motorbikes to Ministry

God works in mysterious ways.

In 2014, while he was still working as a postman, David received his calling to ministry. A keen biker, he met Senior Pastor Eddie Fernandes through the Christian Motorcycle Association (who knew?) and he found the mentor he needed to learn how to launch his own church.

David didn’t speak English, had never lived abroad and had no training in ministry. But God saw the potential in him and, after three years of mentoring from Pastor Eddie, he was ordained in September 2017.

Just like the early church in biblical times, Riverside Algarve began in David and Claudia’s living room with a handful of people. When that became too small, they rented a shop in Rua da Estação which was big enough for 25 people.

One day, 20 people turned up from Holland so, once again, the search began for more space. That brought us to our current building further up the same street in 2018. The premises needed total refurbishment which we completed in March 2020 – just in time for Covid lockdown!

We continued growing the church through online services and trusted God to provide the resources to keep us going. Since opening after the pandemic, we have grown to the point where we are regularly welcoming people from many different nations to our 11:00am service. With a seating capacity of 100 people in our building we had to launch a second service at 9:30 and are already attracting 30 plus people and that service is growing every Sunday.

We are especially pleased to launch our new Sunday School facilities in 2026. We already have 25 children in the church and the extra space will help with Sunday School as well as being available for other ministries throughout the week.

The Future

God is on the move in our church and we have already received a prophetic message that we will move to larger premises within the next three years. We also have a vision to create a kindergarten and a home for the elderly in the years to come.
