The Lisbon show by the band led by Mick Hucknall is scheduled for 16 June 2027 at the MEO Arena and “marks the reunion [...] with the Portuguese public almost 19 years after their last performance in the country,” according to the promoter Sodade, in a statement released today.
Tickets for the Lisbon show will go on sale from 10 am on 25 September. Before that, from 10 am on the 22nd, the band will offer a pre-sale.
The concert lineup will include some of Simply Red's most popular songs, such as "Holding Back the Years," "If You Don't Know Me by Now," "Stars," "Fairground," "Something Got Me Started," and "For Your Babies," among others.
Formed in Manchester, United Kingdom, Simply Red released their debut album, "Picture Book," in 1985.
The group's most recent studio work, "Time," dates from 2023.
"Over more than four decades and around 1700 shows, Simply Red has moved from Manchester clubs and pubs to arenas and stadiums on several continents," says the promoter about the band, which "has five albums and a number one single on the British charts, in addition to nine other Top 10 singles."
Last year, they celebrated their 40th anniversary with an international tour and an album, "Recollections," "comprising 40 new recordings of songs from their catalogue."
