The IPMA has also placed the districts of Porto, Setúbal, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga under a yellow warning due to forecasts of periods of rain or showers, occasionally heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, between 3 pm on 6 November and midnight on 7 November.
Also due to occasionally heavy rainfall, the IPMA has placed the Eastern Azores group (São Miguel and Santa Maria) under a yellow warning between 9 pm on 7 November and midnight on 8 November.
Storm Bruna
According to the IPMA, mainland Portugal and the autonomous regions will be affected by rain, wind and rough seas from 8 November until 13 November, following the arrival of a depression centred north of the Azores, named Bruna.
According to weather forecasts, mainland Portugal will feel the effects of Storm Bruna, initially with the approach of an associated frontal system from early Sunday morning, 8 November, followed by successive frontal waves “at least until the end of next week, on 13 November”.
This involves “a depression centred north of the Azores archipelago, within a vast low-pressure area where several centres will form over the coming days”.
