The research and creative programme CLÁSSICOS EM CENA aims to raise awareness of classical Portuguese drama through staged readings. For this 11th edition, the programme includes performances of the anonymous plays *Auto Guiomar do Porto*, *Auto das Capelas* and *Auto dos dois ladrões* by António Lisboa – a trilogy that explores themes such as forbidden love, lies, theft, escape and justice. The endeavour to bring classical Portuguese drama to the stage has sought to draw attention to the richness, uniqueness and even innovation of this theatrical corpus, both as cultural heritage and as a space for reflection on the great timeless questions inherent to the human condition.
