The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a 27.6 percent drop in the country’s crime rate from January 1 to February 10 this year.

Benjamin Acorda Jr, PNP Chief General, stated that index crimes decreased to 3,246 from 4,485 incidents in the same period last year.
Index crimes are serious offenses, unlike non-index crimes, which include local violations or road accidents.
