The largest annual increases were seen in the Central region (6.4 percent), followed by the Azores (3.2 percent) and Alentejo (3.1 percent), while Madeira saw a more moderate rise of 0.8 percent. On the other hand, rents fell in the North (-5.3 percent) and the Algarve (-3.3 percent).

The Lisbon Metropolitan Area remains the most expensive region to rent a home, with a median price of €19.40 per square metre, followed by Madeira (€15.80/m²) and the Algarve (€14.70/m²). Next come the North (€13.70/m²) and Alentejo (€11/m²), while the most affordable regions continue to be the Azores (€10.30/m²) and the Central region (€9.90/m²).
