As reported by Publituris, registrations are now open for Portuguese wineries, wine estates, tourism businesses and hospitality operators wishing to reinforce their international presence, with applications closing on 16 October.
The event, designed as a business-focused marketplace rather than a large-scale exhibition, will welcome around 30 Portuguese exhibitors alongside 30 carefully selected international buyers from key tourism markets including the United States, Brazil and several European countries.
According to organisers, the limited number of participants is intended to create more meaningful business opportunities through direct meetings between suppliers and decision-makers.
A tailored programme
The initiative is open to wineries, vineyards, wine tourism businesses, hotels, regional wine routes, destination management companies and tourism activity providers.
Each participating business receives a tailored programme of pre-arranged B2B meetings, matching exhibitors with buyers whose interests align with their products and experiences.
The organisers revealed that every exhibitor is scheduled to meet all attending international buyers, with appointments planned to maximise commercial potential.
International buyers are selected from specialist wine tourism operators, luxury travel designers, boutique agencies and destination management companies that either already promote Portugal or are looking to expand their Portuguese offering.
Furthermore, organisers also seek to renew around 90 percent of the invited buyers each year, ensuring most participants attend for the first time and bring fresh opportunities for Portuguese businesses.
In addition to the business meetings, the programme includes networking lunches, coffee breaks, wine tastings, welcome events and a closing dinner, creating informal settings for exhibitors and buyers to build long-term commercial relationships.
A dedicated Wine Lounge will also host tastings for Portuguese wines throughout the event, and the Uncorking Experiences will provide immersive visits that allow overseas buyers to explore wine-producing regions, meet local producers, and experience Portuguese wine tourism first-hand before incorporating those experiences into their travel programmes.
International profile
The 2026 edition will conclude in Évora, creating a symbolic link with the city’s role as European Capital of Culture 2027, which is expected to further raise the international profile of the Alentejo as one of Portugal’s leading wine tourism destinations.
According to Turismo do Alentejo, wine tourism has become one of Portugal’s fastest-growing tourism segments, with increasing demand for authentic vineyard experiences, premium gastronomy and cultural travel.
The Alentejo, home to one of the country’s largest wine-producing regions, has continued to invest in wine tourism infrastructure as part of efforts to attract higher-value, international visitors.
