In a press release, Apolónia Supermarkets reveals that “during the fair, customers will be able to discover a carefully curated selection of around 600 wines and over 200 Deli products, including cheeses, cold cuts and other gourmet specialities, with discounts of up to 50 per cent.”
“This year’s event features a comprehensive range of wines, with a premium selection dedicated to the main Portuguese regions, including the Douro, Dão, Bairrada, Beira Interior, Lisbon, Tejo, Setúbal, Alentejo, Algarve, Vinho Verde, Port and sparkling wines; an international selection, notably from Spain, France (including the Champagne region), Italy, Germany, the United States of America, Canada, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and Champagne; and a non-alcoholic selection, featuring wines of various nationalities and types, such as red, white, rosé and sparkling,” the press release states.
An “area specially dedicated to delicatessen products” will also be created, taking on a more prominent role at the Fair. The selection brings together a wide variety of fresh, soft, semi-soft, mature, hard and blue cheeses, alongside hams and sausages, fine charcuterie, foie gras, cold cuts and mortadella, caviar, smoked and marinated products, amongst other carefully selected specialities. The range also stands out for its diversity of origins, bringing together products from Portuguese, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Swiss, British and American producers, among others, including various products with PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) certifications, which recognise their origin, authenticity and link to their respective regions.”
Over the remaining two weekends, visitors will be able to enjoy the following:
• 12 and 13 September – International wines, from different origins, regions, grape varieties and styles, with a focus on French wines and the diversity of international production;
• 19 and 20 September – Portuguese wines, showcasing the diversity, quality and richness of national production.
“Among the brands and producers taking part in the various tasting sessions will be Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, Beyra, Quinta do Noval, AdegaMãe, Reynolds, Adega do Monte Branco and Quinta do Passadouro, offering customers the opportunity to discover new wines, explore different wine-growing regions and experience a variety of styles and profiles,” reveals Apolónia Supermercados.
