We love discovering new places, trying different menus and returning to restaurants where we have had a great experience. And sometimes it is not just about the food. A beautiful location, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere can make a big difference.

In the first part of our guide, we shared some of our favourite restaurants across the Algarve, but of course, there are many more we would like to recommend. So, we decided to put together a second selection, featuring more places we have personally visited and enjoyed.

From casual lunches to special dinners, here are some more restaurants in the Algarve that we think deserve a place on your list.

Quinta dos Santos (Lagoa)

Quinta dos Santos is more than just a restaurant – it’s a whole experience. Set in the heart of the Algarve, it combines a restaurant, a winery, and even its own beer production, all in one place.

The restaurant, A Esquina, follows a farm-to-table concept, and the setting is just beautiful, with views over the vineyards. You can sit inside or outside, depending on the mood, and it works equally well for a relaxed lunch or a longer dinner with friends. Sharing plates, good wine, and a very laid-back atmosphere. It’s also a great place to try something different, like their small-batch gin or one of their cocktails.

Amara (Quinta do Lago)

Amara is one of the more refined restaurants, though it still has a warm atmosphere and isn’t too formal; it is situated at Four Seasons Fairways and specialises in modern Portuguese dishes prepared with local ingredients.

The menu, created by Chef Nelson Candeias, is designed so you can build your own experience, which I always like – it makes each visit feel a bit different.

It’s a smart-casual place, so you do need to dress up a little, but it’s worth it. The atmosphere is intimate, the food is beautifully presented, and if you happen to visit on one of their jazz nights, it adds a really nice touch to the whole evening.

Cilantro (Vilamoura)

Cilantro is a fine dining restaurant, with a concept inspired by bold flavours and a mix of influences. Chef André Simões uses strong Italian flavours, combined with the essence of the Algarve, to create something that feels both familiar and new.

The space is more intimate and also features a private area for small events, which is a good choice if you’re celebrating an occasion. However, you should bear in mind that this facility is only available seasonally, so it’s always best to check the availability in advance.

Rei das Praias (Ferragudo)

Rei das Praias is one of those classic Algarve places you keep going back to. It’s right on the beach in Ferragudo, and the setting alone already makes it worth it.

It’s been here since 1976 and still feels very authentic. Now run by the founder’s son, it continues to focus on high-quality fish and seafood, sourced straight from the Algarve coast.

Dining here is really about the full experience – the sound of the waves, the ocean view, fresh seafood, and a relaxed but attentive service. It’s simple, but in the best possible way.

Old Course Clubhouse (Vilamoura)

The Old Course Clubhouse in Vilamoura has been recently renovated, and it’s now much more than just a stop for golfers. It offers a really nice, refined dining experience in a modern setting.

The menu by Chef João Galvão offers lighter dishes for lunch and more filling options for dinner. It leans towards Mediterranean flavours, with a focus on seasonal, local ingredients.

Serenata (Lagoa)

Serenata, located at Vale de Lapa Village Resort, is a great option if you’re looking for something relaxed yet nicely done.

You can sit inside or on the terrace overlooking the pool, and the menu covers Mediterranean dishes throughout the day. It’s also very family-friendly, with good options for kids, which is always a plus.

The food is beautifully presented, and the overall atmosphere is calm and easy.

Taste the XXL by Olivier (Albufeira)

XXL by Olivier brings a mix of Portuguese, French and Italian influences to Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira. The menu focuses on comfort food, with choices ranging from steaks and fish to pasta and savoury soufflés. There are also dishes made for sharing, including Black Angus picanha with truffle pasta and monkfish with beurre blanc. The restaurant has an elegant indoor dining room and a terrace, giving you the choice of eating inside or enjoying a warm evening outdoors. It’s worth booking ahead, especially if you’re planning dinner for a special occasion.
