On Saturday, 12 September, heat alerts are in effect in all districts of mainland Portugal, except Faro, Guarda, Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Aveiro, Porto, Braga, and Viana do Castelo. On Sunday, 13 September, the number of exceptions decreases, with only Faro, Vila Real, Bragança, Guarda, and Viseu remaining free from any warnings for high temperatures.

In the North and Central regions, temperatures will range from 36 degrees Celsius in Coimbra and Castelo Branco to 28 degrees Celsius in Guarda. In Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, Santarém will reach temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius and Setúbal 36 degrees Celsius. The Portuguese capital, however, will be milder, reaching 21 degrees Celsius.
Further south, the situation intensifies, with temperatures reaching 38 degrees in Évora, while in Faro the highs are expected to reach only 29 degrees.
