The day after the closing of the 11th edition, the Festival F organisation announced next year's dates, saying its objective is to maintain "the commitment to Portuguese music and reinforce the focus on Lusophony".

Composed of the Faro City Council, the municipal company Ambifaro and the Faro Municipal Theatre – Teatro das Figuras, the organisation highlighted, in a statement, that this year's Festival transformed Vila Adentro, the historic centre of Faro, into the "epicentre of music and culture in Portugal".

“This edition has once again strongly reinforced what Festival F has been throughout its 11 editions: a festival that makes Faro a reference for Portuguese-language music, and that offers all who visit us a unique experience, differentiated by its cultural offerings and the fact that it takes place in the prime area of ​​the city,” said the mayor of Faro, António Miguel Pina, quoted in the statement.

The mayor said that, in 2027, the organisation will “consolidate Festival F in its dimension, maintaining openness to innovation, both in the cultural offerings and in the type of experience” offered to the public.

The organisation considered that the 2026 Festival F “confirmed what more than a decade of history has been building: a mature festival, with its own identity and a sense of belonging to Faro, the Algarve, and an audience that, year after year, returns to close out the summer.”

With the new edition officially scheduled for September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2027, the organisation recalled that, over the past three days, the festival featured 67 concerts on eight stages set up in the streets, squares, and walls of Faro's historic centre, showcasing "unmissable names in Portuguese music," as well as "emerging projects" and artists making their festival debut.

"Among the highlights of this edition are the two encounters conceived especially for Faro, with Ricardo Ribeiro accompanied by the Algarve Jazz Orchestra and Carminho in concert with the Algarve Orchestra, two programs that brought together two of the greatest voices of fado with groups deeply connected to the region," they emphasised.

Names like Slow J, Bárbara Tinoco, Wet Bed Gang, The Gift, Moonspell, Papillon, HMB, D.A.M.A, Branko, Chico da Tina and ÁTOA also performed live at the Algarve festival, which this year was able to include the debuts of Mind da Gap, Maninho and Clã on the bill, highlighted the organisation of the F.

“The approach to the Lusophone space was one of the hallmarks of this 11th edition. The presence of Tz da Coronel and Pelados, which reinforced the historical connection between Portugal and Brazil, and of Nelson Freitas, one of the reference names in contemporary Cape Verdean music, had a very positive response from the public and paves the way for what will be one of the programming lines of the next edition,” the organisation also highlighted.

In addition to the musical programming, the Festival featured talks and conversation spaces, street entertainment, children's programming, exhibitions, dance, poetry, and gastronomy, providing participants with diverse activities for all audiences.

The F Festival has already reached “maturity” and has become an “unavoidable brand for Faro, attracting an increasingly broad regional, national and international audience,” the organisation said, stressing that its goal “is not to grow in size, but to consolidate the F and progressively improve the experience of those who experience it.”

In its 12th edition, on September 2, 3 and 4, 2027, the F Festival will maintain its commitment to Portuguese music and reinforce its focus on Lusophony, due to the very positive public response to the approach that occurred in this edition, consolidating the festival's dialogue with the different geographies of the Portuguese language,” it anticipated.
