According to data from Banco de Portugal, published by Turismo de Portugal, tourism receipts reached €3.65 billion during the month.

The overall picture for the year so far shows stronger growth. From January to July, Portugal generated €16.5 billion in tourism revenue, 3.6% more than during the same seven months in 2025.

The UK continues to be Portugal's most important market in terms of tourism revenue, accounting for 15.2% of the total generated between January and July. Germany followed with an 11.6% share, while the United States accounted for 11.5%.

Looking specifically at July, some markets recorded considerably stronger growth. Revenue from Dutch visitors increased by 7.7%, while Brazil was up 6.3% and the UK recorded an increase of 4.5%.

The latest figures come as Portugal recorded 3.4 million guests and 9.6 million overnight stays in tourist accommodation during July. Guest numbers increased by 1% compared with July last year, while overnight stays rose by 2.1%.

From January to July, Portugal welcomed 18.5 million guests, who generated a total of 46.5 million overnight stays. The UK remained the largest source market for overnight stays, followed by Germany and the United States.
